About This Blog

I know that there are others who have attempted and completed a camper renovation project such as this. I would love to know your thoughts and ideas. Maybe you came across some of the same issues that I might be stumped on, maybe you know a great place to get parts. Or you're part of a camper forum with like minded people. I would LOVE to meet you (here online of course), please feel free to email me, or leave your email in my comments so that I can contact you.

Assesment of the Project Begins!

Exterior - Before

Here's Alex checking what's hidden in this hatch. There's a bit of cleaning to do on this side.
The front window cover needs to come out. It seems that its been leaking in at the piano hinge there.

The backside shows the small bathroom window, and a nice beefy metal bumper that could possibly be modified to carry a  motorcycle.

Interior - BEFORE

I know its dark, but here is a view of the dinette, galley, and front bunk. That dark area above the covered front windows are cabinets that fold down to make another sleeping bunk. This will be the first to go.  Can you believe there is a tiny window in there? I'm not one bit claustrophobic but there is no way I would or let anyone sleep up there.
The dinette also may be torn out just to get some open space. A twin sized air bed could easily fit if we need it. A table and a few folding chairs if we eat inside (only on rainy days).

This is a photo taken from the bench at the front facing back showing the galley.

Another from the front facing back showing the dinette.

This is the bathroom, bit of an odd layout but great use of space.

Here is the tub. Not really in bad condition jus old and warn. Only one crack on the top corner that can be easily fixed. The wall on the other hand has a lot of water damage and needs to be ripped out. The floor under the tub may be too, as it felt soft when you step into the tub. Big plans for this.

And last but not least, the tiny, short toilet. We tend to stay at campgrounds with nice bath houses, so this part ofthe  reno isn't high on our list. We don't really want to deal with the dumping of waste so why make it in this bathroom?

The tour of the 17ft Wilderness is now over
