Well, its March, weather is starting to break. Windy, but I'll take it at 55 degrees. We went on out to the camper with plans to figure out the wiring. I marked out where all of the 12 volt switches and lights would be. All Ikea LED lighting which are actually 12v after the built in transformers. No need to get expensive 12v lighting from the camper places. Just omit the transformers from the Ikea lighting that has them. And for the 12v fuse panel we're getting one from west marine that has the function and look that we really like. I'm sure I've said it before but we love cross platform shopping. The marine industry has some really nice stuff, and built to last better than a lot of the equivalent stuff in the camper world.
So here's a more updated photo taken tonight. This is a view of where the table dinette was. Alex is there running some wires from the new location of the breaker boxes to the switches.
The plans are to build a natural wood counter top just under the window, 18 inches deep. And put some nice kitchen chairs there to eat at when we're not outside cause its raining. I was first toying with the idea of the table being able to drop down if we needed more space. Now I'm not too sure. But I really really want to raise that window 8 inches, so you can see out when standing up. But Alex doesn't think it'll look good from the outside. My thoughts are to pull out the metal siding piece above the window and put it below. But it isn't the same profile as the metal below the window, different ripple shapes (or what ever they are called). Even as a perfectionist don't think its something people are going to notice. Benefits of doing this? Well as it is right now the counter height would be 32 inches. After moving the window up the counter height can be moved to 36 inches. The same as the kitchen counter. I know 4 inches isn't much, but I think it'll help with comfort, and not have the counter at the bottom
Of the window. Trust me I think it'll look fine. What do you think? I'd love to know.
Also to hold up the counter I scored some old cast iron brackets that are going to look awesome after a bit more antiquing.
